We’ve been plugging the Albuquerque Comic Expo for awhile now, and the show is finally here — ACE happens Friday, June 24-Sunday June 26 at the Albuquerque Convention Center, and we can’t wait for it all to start!

Several of the Cheese Magneteers will be on hand — John Jos. Miller will be at the Wild Cards booth (and don’t miss the Wild Cards panel on Saturday at 1:30, featuring JJM, Victor Milan, Melinda Snodgrass, and Walter Jon Williams), while I’ll be at my booth (#163, I believe — look for the ostentatious banner with the half-naked picture of Mark Dacascos on it). Tanzi, meanwhile, will be roaming the convention doing posts from the event.

I’ll be on two panels Friday: the “Local Filmmakers” panel (Noon – 1 PM), featuring Craig Butler, Tim McClelland, Adam Jarmon Brown and Mike West (I hope I’m not leaving anyone out), and the “Indie Filmmakers” panel, 2-3 PM, featuring Lloyd Kaufman of Troma fame, Kurly “Matool” Tlapoyawa, Mike and Michel West, and other folks I can’t recall right now and I apologize to. There’s apparently a chance the time for this one could change to accommodate Lloyd’s schedule, however. I’ll try to bring new material to each panel — I don’t wanna come off like one of those lame talk show guests you’d see on Carson one night, then doing the same patter on Mike Douglas two days later…

Greg Derrick and Mike Thompson have done an amazing job putting ACE together, and by all accounts it looks to be a terrific convention. The guests they’ve lined up are incredible — movie and TV celebs, authors, and a ton of great comic book talents (including Swamp Thing creators Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson). Should be a fun weekend — don’t miss it!
