You could tune your TV to pretty much any channel and have a good shot at seeing our first pick for Cool Actor of the Week: Mr. Daniel Roebuck.

An extremely talented character actor, Dan is probably best known as hapless schoolteacher Leslie Arzt on Lost, along with his role as Deputy Marshal Biggs in The Fugitive and U.S. Marshals, “Big Lou” in Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2, and my mom’s favorite, his recurring role on Matlock. But take a gander at Dan’s extensive list of credits on his imdb page and you’ll realize that you’ve probably seen him every day since 1985 — besides appearing in movies like Dudes, Eddie Presley, Driven, Final Destination, Straight Into Darkness and Bubba Ho-Tep, Dan has made numerous appearances on TV, including Star Trek: The Next Generation, Malcolm in the Middle, Boston Public, The Drew Carey Show and many more. He is, perhaps, truly the Hardest Working Man in Show Biz.

What a lot of people don’t know, however, is that Dan is a huge fan of monsters and all things Halloween. He has an extensive collection of monster memorabilia and even turns up as horror host “Dr. Shocker” on occasion. On top of all that, Dan is an extraordinarily nice guy.

Visit Dan’s official website for his full bio, and keep watching your screens — Dan is sure to appear soon.
